RIP, @loismartinviola - my dear friend of 16 years. From our first collaboration touring w/ @esperanzaspalding to our last recording project w/ @gilevansproject … from Lois’ masterful musicianship to her creative curiosity…from her comment “it’s going very well” to her loud self-incriminating declaration “MISTAKE!” (followed by her iconic laugh)… from her decadent feasts to our last meal together three weeks ago…from her celebrating Charles Wuorinen to her adoration for Tina Turner… from her stuffed mushrooms & Muskoday paella to her freezer full of vanilla ice cream…from her infectious smile to her comforting hugs… from her adventurous spirit to her love of home… from her commitment to family to her devotion to friends… from her strength in the fight to her courage in letting go… her friendship, loyalty, & artistry have impacted me beyond measure. Lois, I love you dearly & will miss you all my days ❤️

Thanks so much to @chuckowen54 not only for this opportunity to pay tribute to one of my musical heros, but to do so with such an incredible crew of musicians. An evening I’ll forever cherish 🙏🏼

What a thrill it was recording Brent Wallarab’s brilliant arrangements w/ Dave & a stellar 30-piece studio orchestra - and an honor being a featured soloist & serving as concertmaster.

Phase 2 of Brent Wallarab’s new album complete - STRINGS! An amazing two days recording his gorgeous compositions/arrangements with these Indiana-based musicians, some of whom I’ve known since I was a little kid. Big thanks to @jnbelser , @richarddolemusic & Greg Reynolds for all they did to make this weekend’s session such a success, & to Maestro Wallarab for the invitation to be part of this project & concertmaster of such a stellar string section 🙏🏼
