Thanks so much to @chuckowen54 not only for this opportunity to pay tribute to one of my musical heros, but to do so with such an incredible crew of musicians. An evening I’ll forever cherish 🙏🏼

* Best Arrangement, Instrumental or A Cappella
* Best Immersive Audio Album

What a thrill it was recording Brent Wallarab’s brilliant arrangements w/ Dave & a stellar 30-piece studio orchestra - and an honor being a featured soloist & serving as concertmaster.

Phase 2 of Brent Wallarab’s new album complete - STRINGS! An amazing two days recording his gorgeous compositions/arrangements with these Indiana-based musicians, some of whom I’ve known since I was a little kid. Big thanks to @jnbelser , @richarddolemusic & Greg Reynolds for all they did to make this weekend’s session such a success, & to Maestro Wallarab for the invitation to be part of this project & concertmaster of such a stellar string section 🙏🏼

Sorting through a box of clothes from my days as a five-year-old, I found the dress I remember wearing the afternoon I tucked the violin under my chin for the first time & made sound come out of that tiny wooden instrument. Safe to say I was hooked from day one 🎻💕

Quick trip to Bloomington (IN) to celebrate the 75th birthday of a major musical mentor in my life: @zweigmimi . As director of the @iujsom Pre-College String Program for 50 years, Mimi has inspired, touched, & transformed countless lives through her teaching, enthusiasm, generosity, & love of the violin. Having studied with her weekly from age 7-12 & in subsequent years including her as one of my musical gurus, I can say without hesitation that the lessons learned & wisdom gained under her guidance are with me every time I hold my violin.

Such a joy gathering with family, colleagues, former classmates, & longtime friends to celebrate the amazing woman who is Mimi Zweig!

BIG thank you to @rachelpatrick11 & @chih.y.chen Chih-yi Chen for their incredible work making this event possible.
